The objective of variety innovation is to improve the existing technical characteristics of plants by crossing genes.
RESEARCH AND SELECTION
InVivo has since 23 August 2010 held a 34.5% stake in RAGT Semences, a European leader in multi-species varietal research and distribution, covering maize, sunflower, sorghum, fodder grasses and pulses, hard wheat, soft wheat, triticale, soybean and rape, among others.
EUROPEAN PRESENCE
RAGT Semences has ten research stations in France and a European network of nine stations in Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Ukraine.
€34 MILLION RESEARCH BUDGET
With a €34 million research budget, RAGT Semences focuses on wheat and triticale selection and allocates considerable resources to research programmes on rape, barley and maize. The research emphasis is also on varieties with the agronomic and quality characteristics commensurate with productive yet environmentally-respectful farming.
