RAGT - InVivo strategic partnership project 08/04/10
RAGT Company and the InVivo Group, a union of cooperatives, have started exclusive negotiations with a view to setting up a strategic partnership in the field of plant seeds.
At the end of this process, Serasem, a subsidiary of the InVivo Group dedicated to creating new plant varieties, would join RAGT Semences. This move would significantly enhance the research potential of RAGT Semences, in terms of both expertise and possible synergies.
Following this agreement, the InVivo Group, supported in particular by the financing companies Unigrains and Sofiproteol, specialists in the agricultural sector, would take a significant stake (34%) in RAGT Semences. This operation would contribute to the emergence of a seed group that would be a major player in both France and Europe.
The seed distribution activities of the InVivo Group in France, managed by Semences de France and its specialist branch Semences Vertes, are not concerned by the project.
Both RAGT Semences and the InVivo Group are aiming to complete operations by 30 June, 2010. The two parties have agreed to organize a joint press conference before this date, in order to present the operations and their strategic objectives in more detail.
