InVivo group and SNCF Réseau, partners to develop the rail transport of cereals

Soufflet group, now InVivo group, and SNCF Réseau have signed an agreement for  strengthen the role of rail in the cereal supply chain.

The cost and efficiency of the supply chain determine the price of cereals on world markets. A key player in the cereals sector and the leading French exporter on the very competitive cereals market, InVivo wishes to continue to develop the place of rail transport in order to improve the competitiveness of its products for export while preserving farmers' remuneration.

In order to strengthen their cooperation, SNCF Réseau and InVivo are mutually committed to a partnership :

  • SNCF Réseau will provide its expertise for the maintenance of the rail infrastructure of the silos connected to the rail network and local support for the InVivo teams in their rail development projects.
  • InVivo is thus committed to increasing the share of rail in its supplies and shipments. Indeed, the joint work with the manufacturer makes it possible to identify its logistical needs and facilitate the implementation of rail flows.

 

The role of rail for the InVivo group

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening the sustainability of its activities is a strong commitment of the InVivo group. Rail therefore plays an important role here: 12 facilities are connected to the national rail network allowing supplies and shipments to Europe, Asia, Africa and the countries of the Middle East. More than 800,000 tons were thus transported by train in 2020, an increase of more than 20% compared to the previous year.
